Byron Bay to Singapore

Scoot Airlines

overcast 30 °C

Once again we were able head overseas using our local Gold Coast Airport, just 45 minutes from Byron Bay - it's so much better than having to travel to Sydney or Brisbane (sometimes with an overnight stay for an early flight). This time we are travelling with 3 other people (Dee, Jan and Greg) and we all flew on a Scoot Airlines Dreamliner 787 into Singapore, a comfortable 7 1/2 hour flight (A$290 each one-way). A 30-minute, SGD60 taxi ride took us to the Dixon 81 Hotel in Little India. The hotel was just about OK for our 1-night, A$70 stay and the location is good; in fact, it is directly opposite the Wanderlust Hotel/Bar where we met up Shamini Flint, an old friend of Jeni's, for a couple of cocktails. From there it was a short walk to the Banana Leaf Apolo restaurant where we had a pretty ordinary meal
